The Botanic Gardens are facebooking an intriguing events for our floral readers; Ikebana Australiana.

Find out about the use of Australian native plants in traditional Ikebana form of Japanese flower arranging. Back by popular demand, this talk and demonstration are not to be missed.

There were a couple of extraordinary Ikebana style displays at Floriade a couple of years ago. The people who did them weren’t locals though. I think one was from S.A. and one was from Sydney.

Best wishes for this effort. We have so many gorgeous sculptural plants. Good to see someone trying to get past baby’s breath and manufactured roses.
