What: Inner North SEE-Change presents: The cost of flying and carbon offsets
When: 6.30pm 19 October
Where: O’Connor Uniting Church, cnr Scrivener and Brigalow Streets.
Murray May completed a PhD on aviation futures in 2004, and is currently a Visiting Fellow at UNSW at ADFA. This work provided an ecological perspective on consumption, sustainability and air transport, and included a case study of the expansion of Canberra Airport.
Murray will provide an overview of the way in which aviation’s growth is on a collision pathway with the need to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and will consider how one’s travel plans fit into this equation.
There will also be advice on the carbon offset options, not only for our flying kilometres but all aspects of our carbon footprint.
All welcome. Child minding and light supper provided. RSVP for child care please.
