ACT Policing has charged a 47-year-old Kambah man with child exploitation offences following a referral from US authorities via the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation.

Following a subsequent investigation by the ACT Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET), search warrants were executed on the man’s home yesterday (4 June).

The man was charged with possession of child exploitation material and possession of child abuse material accessed via a carriage service.

Electronic devices were seized during the search and a forensic examination of the devices will be conducted.

He is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today.

Members of the public who have any information about people involved in child abuse are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
