Local florist recommendation

By Lucy Wilson - 23 October 2014 12

Hi Rioters. It is my mothers 50th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks. I’m looking at getting a variety of flower arrangements for a party we are organising. Does anyone have any florist recommendations?

What’s Your opinion?

GG’s Flowers is a socially sustainable florist in the ACT.
We employ young people with disabilities to provide meaningful employment and education opportunities to them.
Based in Canberra, we deliver to all suburbs and can take on any project, big or small.
Personally, Geetha Wijewickrema is the mother of Gayana Wijewickrema, a young and vivacious 15 year-old with Down Syndrome.
Together, it is their passion and dream to make floral arrangements for the Canberra community.

We specialise in corsages, floral arrangements, gift boxes, hampers, bouquets and everything else flowers related!

So please, think of GG’s Flowers next time you are ordering flowers. Not only will you receive beautiful flowers straight to your door, you’ll be helping a meaningful cause.

On a side note, theword, have you requested congratulatory messages for your mother’s anniversary? For a 50th wedding anniversary, you can get a message from the Prime Minister and Governor-General at a minimum (maybe a few more depending on which State/Territory your parents live in).

This is a free service.

Visit http://www.itsanhonour.gov.au/anniversary/index.cfm for details.

canberra floristry.. you can choose from the following:
1.cheap
2.quality design
3.well handled product (=greater product longevity)
4.excellent customer service
5.fast delivery
if you are looking for#1. cheap- you want Aldi..which is not floristry..
let us know how you go with the rest.. 🙂

Florever in Dickson is highly recommended. They did my wedding. The price is reasonable, the arrangements are beautiful and the staff are friendly.

Can not speak highly enough of the Poetry in Flowers in Gunghalin near the cole. They were absolutely lovey.
I had several reccommendations for them for my wedding and way cheap ($650 for 1 bride, 4 brides maids, 3 flower girls and 5 buttonholes)

Manuka Flowers. Very good quality stock and capable florists.

Woolworths usually clear their flowers out a couple of times each week. You will save yourself a bundle if you get the timing right.

I used Capital Flowers recently – http://www.capitalflowersact.com.au/ – and found them to be very reasonably priced and flexible. they have set arrangements on line, but you can also phone them and indicate what style you like but change the colours etc to suit, or pick a designers choice and give them some general guidance.

Florever in Dickson helped me with custom made arrangements about two years back. Reasonably priced as well
