Lyneham catfisher to face court on multiple fraud charges

A 27-year-old woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (25 May) with multiple fraud charges after allegedly catfishing victims to give her money.

ACT Police report that the Lyneham woman had been scamming her romantic victims to provide her money, believing it was for medical treatment for her child.

The woman will now face court with numerous charges of Obtaining Property by Deception.

ACT Police are urging anyone who suspects they may be a victim of this type of fraud to report it to Police Operations on 131-444.
