Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes through the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Lily and Frank are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Cat of the Week: Lily

Lily needs a forever home, and if we leave it up to her, it’s not going to happen. Let me explain because none of this is her fault. This will explain the odd photo, too.

Lily comes from an adoring owner who became unable to properly care for her and surrendered her to us. Lily is used to the same home with a lovely, large outdoor run/enclosure, and she loves her food (she’s a tad large).

So, after five years with her adoring owner, she suddenly finds herself indoors, and honestly, she hates it. She doesn’t want to come out of her little hiding space, not because she’s timid, not because she’s not used to people. She just hates the change in her life. Imagine a teenage hissy fit that lasts for weeks.

We need a cat lover who understands this and can help Lily find the right home. We’re confident that in a few weeks, she will be back to being the boss of the house, and you’ll see that she likes people and is friendly.

Frank

Dog of the week: Frank

This handsome boy is Frank, an adult Boxer (age unknown) who’s been put on this earth to be your companion, take brisk walks around the block and perhaps a cuddle on the couch.

He’s also a clever learner and quite intelligent. Frank has proved this because he recognises hand signals like thumbs up and lower-down. You see, Frank is deaf, so he relies on hand signals and facial expressions.

He will be a sensational pet and loyal as can be.

Big, gentle Frank just needs a home and someone to call his own. Will you come visit Frank at our shelter?

Pawnote: 300! That’s the number of kittens we’ve received since November at our shelter. Please desex your felines. Also, our big unit, ‘Big Mack’, who featured in this article recently, has been adopted! Best. News. Ever.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
