Macdonalds Kidsware ad’s from the 90’s?

Solidarity 23 January 2012 14

Hey all,

I’ve just learnt that a good mate of mine was in pretty much every Macdonalds Kidsware ad aired between ’90 and ’00.

Does anyone have any recorded on tape or something and would be willing to put it on YouTube so I can watch it and make fun of him for eternity?

Cheers

A few ads we used to mock at school:

1. ‘Vill the next Qveen be Anne?’ spoken in a Tcherman accent (local business but forgotten what – possibly norman ross?)
2. ‘Is your life dull, colourless and boring?’ – in B&W! (local ad for colour tv business)
3. And finally, ‘It’s cold as ice! . . . . eeeeeeee (giggle) eeeeee!’ ad for ice cologne – found it on youtube! ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MszuCHn0k-A

I swear this is the sort of enquiry we get all the time at work (NFSA). The way our collection is catalogued, unless the ads were specifically put on the contents listing, they wouldn’t show up on the database.

“But Doctor, the hospital is that way!”

“Yes, but Supa-Scoop is this way!!”

“Supa-scoop is cheap cheap cheap…”

WHEEEERE DO YOU GET IT???

Who remembers that one? The most annoying ad on TV.

I just found a whole bunch of old VHS tapes on the weekend and was thinking about checking to see what was on them before I turfed them. May have to look for long lost ads now. 🙂

ha, that’s right…”shop-rite, shop-rite supermarkets, cutting Canberra’s food bills yeah, lot’s of red hot bargains’.

What about “Youngs, Youngs, everyone’s thinking Youngs, Youngs, eveyone’s thinking Youngs”. Going back to school had to include a visit to the uniform section down stairs, where JB Hifi was in the city.

It’s a shame that the only jingle my 12 yo knows is that damned radio ad “I’ve got a smooth cha-cha”.

How about the old credit union ad from the 1970s? “Friends and neighbours, workmates too. They’re the ones that join with you, For a common bond that’s true, In a credit union.”

How funny, I was in ‘Jammo’ today with my 12 yo and tortured her with my rendition of the Macdonald’s song…along with ‘Come on in to Jammo and make your day worthwhile’…

Then tortured her with the ‘Canberra Times phone number 450 – 5 – double 5, for Canberra’s biggest market place, just dial the classifieds’ and the ‘under oh-five or under arrest’ police breathaliser song….

What a great day!

I wish I’d kept my VHS and tapes, I had hours of old tv shows taped, had the old Shop-Rite supermarkets and Mamma’s fruit shop ads.
