A 23-year-old man and a 24-year old woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Thursday, 26 Apri) in relation to a stolen motor vehicle and other offences.

About 1:40 pm on Tuesday (24 April), ACT Policing observed a silver coloured Nissan Skyline in the suburb of Lyneham. When recognising the vehicle as reported stolen, police followed the vehicle.

Police subsequently arrested a male and female at the Canberra Southern Cross Club, at Corinna Street, Phillip.

The man attempted to flee the scene, however, was apprehended and taken into custody with the female.

Police will be opposing bail.

The man will appear on five charges including riding or driving in a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, attempting to escape from arrest, driving while disqualified and drug offences.

The woman will appear on four charges including riding or driving in a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, and unlawful possession of stolen property.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations will continue investigations into the stolen motor vehicle and the persons apprehended.
