Man in his 90s dies as ACT records 939 new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded 939 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 505 identified by PCR and 434 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 68 people in hospital, including 3 in intensive care. No one is currently being ventilated.

The double-dose vaccination rate for the ACT’s five-plus population is now 97 per cent and 75.2 per cent of residents aged 16 and older have now received a booster.

Of ACT residents aged five to 11, 65.2 per cent have received two doses of vaccine.

Since the pandemic began, 104,125 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the ACT.

NSW recorded 11,709 new cases and 20 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Victoria recorded 9,064 new cases and 19 deaths.
