Man rescued from loader in Turner serious worksite accident

A man has been taken to hospital after he was trapped in a skid-steer loader machine during a serious worksite incident on Wednesday afternoon (13 February).

Around 12:30 pm, emergency services were called to Condamine Street, Turner after reports a man was trapped at a demolition site.

ACT Fire & Rescue firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to access and free the man before he was taken to Canberra Hospital. It is understood he sustained serious leg injuries.

WorkSafe ACT said inspectors remain on the site and investigations into the incident are continuing.

WorkSafe ACT has placed a non-disturbance notice on the area of the site surrounding the incident and a prohibition notice on the skid-steer loader.
