The ABC has a story on an expert being sent into Farrer Primary to see if the mould problem has been rectified with $200,000 in cleaning and improvements:

The Department says the school has called in occupational physician Keith Adam who will interview teachers and parents to find out whether the building could be linked to illness.

The Department has confirmed Dr Adam investigated the cancer cluster at the ABC’s Brisbane studios several years ago.

Surprised it has taken so long to have something done.

Seriously? In my experience, slow is the ONLY way things change in DET facilities… The only way they act “quickly” is when there is clearly a serious health and safety risk… Other things are normally ignored with reasoning like “policy documents are just guidelines”…

In a decade with DET, I’ve not yet worked in a school that doesn’t have a seriously leaky roof (often “waterfall” being an apt description). The $200,000 A/C system at my current School was installed at least three years ago; and has NEVER worked properly.

Having worked in that school previously… its has ALWAYS smelt mouldy. Surprised it has taken so long to have something done.

No action can be taken as ACT Government does not discriminate between cultures.
