Need an old style glazier

By jimbocool 8 March 2011 1

The 1920s vintage sash windows – salvaged from original Kingston houses – in my home need some maintenance.

No disrespect to O’Briens and other modern operators, but this is a job for an expert craftsman.

It’s good thick glass – apprently lead lined – that needs to be reset into the old cedar window frame. Fiddly and tricky – are there any master glaziers out there any more?

In choosing a glazier to replace a broken glass pane in an old sash window I wanted someone who could do a good job for a fair (non rip-off) price. I discussed options with Jock of Croker Glass and decided on toughened glass because of the likelihood of another direct hit from a soccer ball. The quote was reasonable, the glass was ordered and the job was completed quickly and cleanly. I recommend this company and would use them again.
