Neko Pink’s Five Aussie Acts To Watch Out For

| CBR DIG

Local indie-pop duo Neko Pink has been killing it since their formation last year. With their single Black Mountain Drive reaching #1 on the Triple J Unearthed charts and the release of their debut EP ‘Love Capital’, it’s no surprise the band have been asked to play with Bec Sandridge at her upcoming UC Hub gig.

Leading up to the show, we had a chat with Africa and Angus about their five favourite Aussie artists right now.

MALLRAT

We are obsessed with Mallrat! Her unique flow and lyricism is so catchy yet straight from the heart, her beats are always tight and bobby as hell! We’d love to be able to share the stage with her one day, she seems like a beautiful soul and such a lovely person.

HOCKEY DAD

For only two guys to produce such a huge sound is such an achievement, everything these two boys come up with is fire, they take the classic Aussie rock sound and add such a unique flair to it, can definitely see these guys up there with the best before long.

PARCELS

Parcels have to be our favourite band at the moment, everything they touch turns me into some kind of dancing fool, I cant help but bop like a drunk aunty when I hear their jazzy indie tracks. They’re releasing their debut album in the next month and we cannot wait, definitely one of our most anticipated albums of 2018, with a handful of the track even being co-produced by none other then Daft Punk.

THE JUNGLE GIANTS

TJG only write hits! Everything this team produces is not only inspiring but always comes with nationwide acclaim.

Quiet Ferocity was easily one of the best albums of 2017, with huge tracks like “Used to Be in Love” and “On Your Way Down.” They mix the classic Australian indie rock sound with the classic brit pop sound so perfectly, they are a sure fire influence for us!

CLIENT LIASON

With only one album under their rhinestone belts these guys are showing no sign of slowing down, they even just launched their own music and fashion festival. Their music mixes classic synth pop with modern dance music so well, which is such a huge inspiration for us because we strive to do the same thing. If you want to get pumped up for a night out Client Liaison are your best bet!

Catch Neko Pink with Bec Sandridge and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers this Friday at UC Hub. For $5, you’d be a damn fool not to.
