It’s time to break out the chopsticks! After a two-year hiatus, the 10-day festival of food and fun that is the Canberra Night Noodle Markets is back.

Running from Friday 25 February to Sunday 6 March, the festival has a new home at the Parkes Place West Lawns – and even your pooch is welcome.

Popular local restaurants, including the Korean BBQ King, Korbq and Donburi Station, will be showcasing some of their delicious menus, as well as more widely known offerings such as Wonderbao, Hoy Pinoy and Gelato Messina, among others.

Along with the delicious Asian cuisine, guests will be able to enjoy live entertainment, dragon dancers and pop-ups from partner brands, including a Dan Murphy’s Zero% Bar, an Aperol Spritz Kombi Bar, a Gage Roads Beer Garden, and an Accor Hotels’ stall selling fairy floss, popcorn and coffee.

Despite the expected crowds, a collaboration with Mr Yum will hopefully make queuing a thing of the past. Through Mr Yum mobile ordering, guests will now have the option to scan a QR code to view, order and pay for items on their phone, with an SMS sent as soon as orders are ready for pick up.

Mr Yum CEO and co-founder Kim Teo hopes this will revolutionise the Night Noodle Market experience.

“This is one of Australia’s most popular food events, and offering streamlined ordering and payment to thousands of attendees will make it even better,” he said.

“(It) will allow people to spend more time feasting with family and friends and less time lining up for food and drinks.”

Attracting more than 850,000 people across Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra, the Night Noodle Markets are one of the most keenly anticipated annual events. Over the past 23 years, more than 40 million people have attended, making the Night Noodle Markets Australia’s largest food event.

Over the 10-day festival, the markets will be open from 5 pm to 9 pm from Monday to Thursday, 5 pm to 10:30 pm on Fridays, 4 pm to 10:30 pm on Saturdays and 4 pm to 9 pm on Sundays.

The event is free to enter; however, guests must register for their free ticket via the Night Noodle Markets website.
