Now That’s What I Call Road Rage!

By tylersmayhem - 2 October 2008 24

Just in…a major road rage incident was just witnessed here in Bruce.  An employee of the secure compound here was assaulted after a traffic altercation.

Allegedly the employee accidentally cut off a car full of youths, who then threatened the driver.  The driver then drove into the secure compound and the youths pulled to the the side of the road and two of them jumped the fence to the Government compound and repeatedly punched the employee, one strike breaking his nose.

Apparently the rego number of the youths was caught on CCTV and the police are on site investigating.

Lets hope for some justice for a change.  Sadly my bets are that the youths are under 18 with no prior record.  therefore their charges for assult and tresspassing on a governement site will be poo pooed and a slap on the wrist administered.  Who know’, maybe even a short stint and the new “Youth Summer Camp Facility”?!

What’s Your opinion?

I never anticipated an event concerning my own family to be the subject of an RA article! My brother was the driver involved and I can attest to the fact that he is a competent driver who has never previously been involved in an incident like this before and that ‘accidentally cut off’ means exactly that. He didn’t purposely pull in front of them. As someone previously mentioned it was definitely a case of changing into the lane of the road ragers. They then pulled to a stop in front and behind him, boxing the car in. He escaped into a break of traffic when they pursued him and the rest as they say is history. As far as I am aware the police are treating this matter quite seriously for reasons already stated by tylers. Lets just hope the youths can be recognised via the CCTV footage as unfortunately the registration wasn’t correct. IF they’re identified I’m sure I won’t be alone in hoping they get punished appropriately but I won’t be holding my breath.

People who carry on like that on the roads are fools, and products of our no-policing environment. there’s no excuse for it. “cut them off”… what does that mean? Were on the same road and not going at the speed the road ragers had dictated? Changed lanes into the road-ragers’ lane?

If people are allowed to drive on the roads, the same rules must apply to all. If they are “children” and subject to “children” law, they should not be piloting 1 or 2 tonne killing implements.

I never cease to be amazed at people in cars. Those who think they should be able to control every other car on the road. Other cars will do stuff unexpected. The moment you take it to heart, you lose.
If ya can’t handle traffic, ladies and gentlemen, don’t drive in a city.

Hey man, I’m only quoting what I was told bout “accidentally cut off”. But c’mon, hardly deserves being pursued and punched the crap out of. I hope these little turds are kept an eye on. If they have the agro to do that, what will they be like in a few years with women and children. In fact, they’ll just probably fit quite comfortably into the Canberra nightclub bouncer scene.

Brave lads, as these people usually are…

Road rage is dumb. Cars full of youths being menacing and road-ragey who want to punch on are dumb. Punching anyone is dumb.

I think the other car full of youths were too busy knocking the snot out of the other driver to comment.

hopefully there were 6 in a sedan – always looks good for idiots to have a full carload….

Sadly my bets are that the driver of the other car was Asian.

Lets not be racist here. Black people are bad drivers too.

how is it secure if they just “jumped the fence”?

where was security?

Was the driver an emo? And the perpetrators hippies?
Or vice versa?
Have we got a subculture war on our hands?
