Facebook brings word of a magnificent shindig:
Way back in the year 2012, the Polish Club played host to a night of old-fashioned shuckin’, jivin’, hootin’, hollerin’ and other apostrophed verbs: The Old Timey Music Revue.
It’s now time to be nostalgic for the last time we were nostalgic, and to do it all over again with the imaginatively-titled OLD TIMEY MUSIC REVUE NUMBER TWO.
The evening will feature the talents of:
ADAM COOK, performing the very finest in piano ragtime for your edification
DOLLFACE, gypsy jazz with Canberra’s own manouche chanteuse Alice Cottee
DR STOVEPIPE, curing what ails you with their patent-pending Americana and country concoctions
MOOCHERS INC, still peddling trad jazz to people who hate trad jazz
Also, the Polish Club has introduced a Happy Hour on Thursdays and Fridays from 6-8pm with already cheap Polish beers and vodkas etc. going for $5 so come along after work and get really trashed, I mean, sample some fine liquor at very happy prices.
So doors are at 6pm in the bar, 8pm in the dance hall for an approximate 8.30pm start.
Entry: $20 (full)/$15 (conc.)/$12 (CMC members)
