Parties at the Shops comes to Erindale

By Tuggeranong_Action_Group - 8 October 2015 0

You may visit your local shops regularly, but how well do you know your local community?

This Sunday, PCYC Erindale, Christine’s Place, Erindale Neighbourhood Garden, Tuggeranong Action Group and Parties at the Shops are teaming up to present a fantastic event at the Erindale shops, Discover Erindale, to showcase Tuggeranong’s community spirit and encourage residents to rediscover their local community centre.

On three closely located sites, the event will include a market day outside the Erindale Centre, with stalls offering local craft, food and information on local community groups and services. Live music, face painting and other activities will provide entertainment for all ages.

A few steps away, PCYC Erindale will host an open day and barbecue from 11am till 4pm, complete with entertainment and demonstrations of all the great activities on offer for families and youth at PCYC.

Across the carpark, from 11am till 2pm, Erindale Neighbourhood Garden will present its new site to the community, with kids’ gardening activities, a scavenger hunt, a preloved clothing stall, and a performance by the Tuggeranong Valley Band for an hour from 12.30pm. Visitors are encouraged to bring a plant to help your local community garden grow.

Parties at the Shops is produced by Devil Moon, and proudly supported by the Land Development Agency, Events ACT, Bendigo Bank and Capital Metro.

When: 11am – 2pm, Sunday 11 October
