Police have released photos of a suspect after a man was allegedly robbed at gunpoint and had his car stolen in north Canberra last month.

ACT Policing said the man was approached by the male suspect at the loading dock of a Dickson business about 4:30 pm on 10 April 2023.

It is alleged the suspect produced a firearm and demanded the man hand over the keys to his grey Mazda 2, then drove off in the car towards Antill Street.

The Mazda was later found crashed into a tree near Lake Ginninderra.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect and have released photos of him as part of their efforts.

“He was wearing a dark hoodie, black shorts with red and blue runners. He was also carrying a dark backpack,” ACT Policing alleged.

Officers also want to speak with anyone who may have dashcam footage of the Mazda 2 on 10 April or may have seen the vehicle at the time.
