THURSDAY: Police are searching for an apparent good Samaritan who tried to stop a suspect from escaping after an alleged robbery in a north Canberra bottle shop earlier this year.
ACT Policing alleged three boys ran into the BWS bottle shop on Mabo Boulevard, Bonner around 7 pm on 12 April 2024 before stealing a large quantity of alcohol.
“Police understand the man attempted to prevent one of the boys from leaving the shop, resulting in a short struggle,” a police spokesperson said.
“Police would like to speak to the man regarding the incident, or anyone who can identify the man, noting he is not a suspect and is not in any trouble.”
This man is described as Caucasian in appearance, with a medium build, brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a green t-shirt, black pants and thongs.
