Multiple fire crews continue to spray water on the structure. The cause of the fire is unknown but there are no suspicious circumstances at this stage.
Earlier report: The main building at the Pialligo Estate Farmhouse Restaurant is fully engulfed in flames, with multiple fire crews working desperately to extinguish the fire.
As pictured above, large flames can be seen at the restaurant and a large amount of smoke is visible in the area.
ACT Fire & Rescue was alerted to the building fire at Pialligo Estate on Kallaroo Road at 4;24 pm today.
Pialligo Estate General Manager Charlie Costello said, “we are very thankful that everyone is safe, however as a business, we are of course devastated.”
Multiple fire crews from ACT Fire & Rescue and the Aviation Fire & Rescue continue to wet down the building from the exterior only.
As we published online, external firefighting was continuing with crews outside the front and side of the building and the Bronto being used from above.
There are three ACT Fire & Rescue fire pumpers, HAZMAT, a breathing apparatus support van and two commanders on scene.
They are being assisted by two units from Aviation Fire & Rescue and two from the ACT Rural Fire Service.
Firefighting is expected to continue into tonight.
