The optimistically named “Measuring Our Progress” has this day cast its eye over “Involvement in cultural events” and responds with the green up-arrow of joy.

It seems 93% of Canberrans over 15 years old managed to get to at least one cultural venue of event in the 2009-10 financial year.

When one considers that the bar here is as low as going to the movies it’s somewhat terrifying that 7% of the population haven’t managed at least one “cultural event” in a whole year.

Regardless we have improved from 2005-06’s 89.8% so it’s another green light on the great dashboard of Canberra’s progress.

does going to Belconnen Mall constitute a cultural event?

Well, now that ‘al fresco’ dining is just around the corner… I would think so!

does going to Belconnen Mall constitute a cultural event?

Why do I never get asked my opinion on these survey stats roundup things? I hope it is all done very scientifically 😛

Anything in there about the numbers taking up gym membership or other exercise? If there was an upward trend there, then that would *really* be progress.

Judging by the quality of most movies, I’m surprised that so many people have spent money on them.
