Alan Tongue is a great bloke, I agree.

The raiders have done well considering the whole team is out injured/suspended. It should be a great season next year, lets support them.

Some of the comments above are pretty poor. The Raiders and guys like Alan Tongue are great for Canberra’s reputation. They are good sportsmen and play fairly and with pride. The fact that they finished in sixth position and even made the finals with a squad of only 17 fit players is worthy of celebration. The Brumbies didn’t even make the finals this year, and I don’t recall anywhere near the same level of cynicism and schadenfreude on this forum then. Poor form.

As for last night…nerves just got the better of us. Our players had too little finals (or even first-grade) experience and were nervous, and it showed. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Cronulla went to the grand final this year.

Speaking of coming down to earth, I’ve just returned from a weekend away on Planet Folk Festival (where there’s precious little news of what’s happening here on earth) and went to the Canberra Times web-site (8.30pm, Sunday) to catch up on a little news and was informed of this: “The Raiders dare to dream they’re a chance of winning the NRL title.”

I’m guessing that’s now old news…

Agreed. Last night we saw the ‘bad’ Raiders play. It’s a shame that the season ended like this, but the last couple of games (Cowboys and Bulldogs) showed to me that the Raiders would struggle in the finals. Just not clinical enough.

The Raiders performance was absolutely dismal last night..

After watching the under 20’s flog the Titans I was expecting at least an interesting match for the main game.

Sorry but for all you die hard Raiders fans out there, after last nights performance – Its only justice that NZ just won to knock them out of the finals. If they were going to continue to play like that, they certainly didn’t deserve to continue on in the finals.
