Bungendore local Sharon Isherwood was asked to put together some ‘Thank You’ gift hampers for her children’s school teachers. They loved them so much and she loved putting them together that she launched Sharwood Hampers in 2016.

Sharon said, “I saw a need in the Canberra region for hampers that consisted wholly of locally made products, and so it began. Prior to commencing Sharwood Hampers, my business background in Canberra was working in Recruitment for a large multi-national company and a local business.”

Now Sharwood Hampers provides beautifully arranged jam-packed hampers and gift baskets filled with amazing products from the local region of Canberra and the Southern Highlands. Sharon prides herself in sourcing quality local products for all the individually made hampers and gift baskets with one of the mottos of the business being, “We promise to only send good things.”

“I believe in all the products I stock. I have taste tested the food to ensure it’s excellent quality, (and tasted the wine of course!) and the non-food items are also all premium local products. There is so much talent around the region. It’s a real buzz to put it all together into a hamper,” shared Sharon.

“Our hampers contain food, beer, wine and non-food items. I can make a combination of food and non-food items to suit any occasion. I have a number of pre-designed hampers on the website to suit many occasions and situations but I also work with individuals and businesses to tailor the content of any hamper to meet their, or the recipients, needs. I have recently added gift vouchers for local businesses, such as restaurants and spa’s, that can be selected and added to any hamper purchased on our website.”

“The most popular style of hamper is a gift hamper for new homeowners. It’s a fabulous thank you from an agent – or a friend – to say Congratulations and Welcome to your New Home! These usually consist of food only, but we have some fabulous non-food items including ‘Home’ Tea Towels, handmade wooden cheese boards, soaps and candles; which are always a lovely inclusion for a new homeowner.”

The popular pre-designed ‘Home Sweet Home’ hamper consists of an array of local products to settle one into their new home including a Zenzi Rosato Frizzante from Lerida Estate Wines, Home design Tea Towel from There Goes A Pig, Raspberry Jam from Yerriebah, Blood Orange infused Olive Oil from Homeleigh Grove, chocolate bars from Enigma Fine Chocolates, Mulberry Jam from Beth’s Garden Delights, and Minty Sweet Chilli Sauce from Anthony’s Sauces & Condiments.

While the ‘Thanks Mate’ hamper provides for a perfect night in, with Bentspoke Brewery Co beers, chocolate bars from Enigma Fine Chocolates, Chilli & Lime Salsa from Anthony’s Sauces & Condiments, Smoky & Hot BBQ Sauce from Anthony’s Sauces & Condiments, Table Olives from Homeleigh Grove, Gardners Mustard Pickle from Sully’s at the Old Cheese Factory, Trail Mix from The Muesli Bar, and Almond & Cashew Organic Crackers from Jenny’s Grain Free.

Part of what Sharon enjoys about the business is being able to share her love of the fantastic local produce around the region, so when she was asked recently by one of her clients for contact details of suppliers, Jennys Grain Free, she was delighted to hear they wanted to order more of their fabulous “Jenola”, saying “How good is that!”
