It’s another great week for live music in the capital with the city’s jazz musicians stepping up to the plate as shows become increasingly sit-down affairs.

Molly, Hippo, Smith’s Alternative and the National Press Club are all playing host to jazz combos or jam sessions throughout the week, culminating in the NPC’s Friday night set from Old Hands and Young Guns featuring some of the best rising stars and old hands in the Canberra jazz scene.

For those lucky enough to score tickets, the sold-out Witchskull gig at The Basement is sure to be a highlight. With support from local rockers Charlotte & The Harlots, Saturday night is set to be one of the most memorable (and loudest) shows you’re likely to attend this year.

Elsewhere, CJ Shaw, Nick Combe and more are taking to Garema Place each weekday as part of City Renewal Authority’s free Lunchbox Acoustic series, while Fiction nightclub will host their annual Long Weekend Party on Sunday night.
