Rubbish removal - a wee leather couch problem

Thought I’d update this post for future couch chuckers.

For a three-seater couch from Tuggeranong to the tip. I called Waste Away – as we use them at work – and they quoted $45, but after two attempts to get it picked up (staying home all day) they never came and never called. I will recommend we no longer use them at work.

Wright Way never answered the phone for me and did not return calls.

AAA Waste removal quoted $150. Didn’t even ask size of couch or where it was getting picked up from.

Ended up getting a very nice bloke from Brindabella Waste Company to pick it up for $60.

Sundance, I asked for recommendations for rubbish removal. Note: recommendation as opposed to just a telephone number which I could easily get from the yellow pages. I didn’t want to inflict a couch that stinks of piss on anyone else. I wanted to get it removed and disposed of.

I ended up using Wright Way Rubbish Removal (phone 0404 621 313) and they were great. $65 to take away the wee couch and tip fees only to also get rid of an old TV. The quote was much less than the others I got, they turned up on time and I now live in a wee-free home. I recommend them to anyone else needing this type of service. The cat refuses to be ashamed of his actions and is casting a suspicious eye towards the armchairs… Seriously, though, I think it was a protest against the foster kittens I had in from the RSPCA and he is okay now they have gone up for adoption.

Have you tried leaving it on the footpath & waiting for someone to steal it? No, I’m serious.

I think the OP has decided a new leather lounge (and they are quite cheap at Hardly Normals) is necessary. No “stainbuster” stain/smell remover will do.

I would suggest, however, that the cat in question needs a good talking to. Perhaps send it to the bathroom for long periods until it learns to control its urges to wee where it is not acceptable? 😉
