Rules about Roadside Ads?

Hive Mind can you help me out please?

Are there any rules about putting up road side signs to advertise something? I’m not talking about a permanent structure more those signs on a post you see advertising the Hall Markets, model train exhibitions, fetes and fairs and more recently the election candidates (though the latter might be a different case).

I’d like to explore options of advertising this way and need to know if there are rules or regulations about it and who to contact/ask about it. Is it only for ‘events’ or can a business advertsie a service for a short time?

Any ideas?

Cheers

Plastering your business name all over a registered van and parking it legally in strategic locations is probably your best bet for roadside advertising.

It’s pretty simple – if you’re advertising your business you can probably put a sign out the front. Anything else isn’t allowed, though there are some exceptions for real estate agents, community groups and election candidates.

Read the link Keijidosha posted, the laws are not too convoluted.

I love the way that governments place roadside signs as you are approaching a ‘blackspot’… Self-fulfilling distractions?

Make up a sign that looks like a street sign and put it on a street sign pole, like everyone else.

Here’s a link to the temporary signage COP:

You have my utmost support to advertise all over the Benjamin Way phallus and the GDE Optimus Primus’ pubic hair so that these abominations are hidden for the good of the public.

You can do anything you like in this town. Advertise everywhere and leave your crap all over town.
Just don’t have plastic bags though, they are made by the devil.
