School cross country run Mt Taylor

troutfisher 14 May 2011 4

Does anyone know which school did a cross country run on Mt Taylor today. It was all boys (apart from at least 1 female teacher) and I am pleased to say were very polite.

Young people get a bagging these days so credit should be given when it’s deserved

Everyone loves compliments, call them and let them know.

Was Marist on Friday – my boys got out of it (early weekend)

I used to attend Melrose, and the run up Mount Taylor was a regular event (probably once a week or so). Normally it would happen during the lesson before lunch, meaning that any students that took their time would miss out on lunch rather than the lesson following PE. Some of us who wanted to take our time, simply took lunch up with us, and missed the first class of the afternoon instead. After all, what sort of teacher sends the students for a run up a mountain and back, and expects them to do it in an hour (including getting changed before/after).

Having said that, you mentioned there was a teacher in attendance… at Melrose, we never had a teacher from memory, the teacher would stay in the nice warm (or a/c’d school) and wait for everyone to get back.

One of two high schools are in the vacinity of Mt Taylor, Melrose and Marist. The latter is an all boys school.
