Precious working dogs have been stolen from a property on the Monaro.

The seven Kelpie-Cross Huntaway puppies were taken from a farm in the Tinderry area near Michelago. Monaro Rural Crime Investigators believe the theft of the five male and two female dogs took place between 5 pm and 9 pm on Sunday, December 9.

The puppies are nine weeks old and black and tan in colour, most were awaiting collection to working dog homes.

Police are appealing for information from the public, particularly in relation to any suspicious vehicles seen on the Tinderry Road or in the Michelago area around the suspected timeframe.

Police also ask that you are more aware of people selling puppies that either match the description or are suspicious.

If you have any information please contact Monaro Rural Crime Detectives, Ned Doubleday or Archie French at Cooma Police Station 6452 0099.
