Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development, Simon Corbell, will be guest speaker at the next Tuggeranong Community Council meeting on Tuesday 1 July 2014. He will talk on projects to improve water quality in Lake Tuggeranong. You will recall the Lake will be one of the recipients of the more than $80M that has been directed to improve lakes and waterways in the ACT. The TCC has welcomed the funding but the Federal Government says more studies need to be done before handing over the cash. The TCC believes enough studies have been carried out, time is being wasted and work should start immediately on cleaning up Lake Tuggeranong. Mr Corbell is likely to be asked for his opinion on suggestions to develop west of the Tuggeranong Town Centre and a range of other local issues. The meeting will be held on Tuesday 1 July commencing at 7.30pm in the upstairs formal dining room of the Southern Cross Club in Greenway. Members and guests are welcome to attend.
