Stolen police uniforms used for unsavoury dress-ups?

In the predictable carnage that is our comments section following the death of Jamie Joseph Peisley over the weekend this interesting photo was unearthed.

There are claims that the gun is real and the uniform is stolen.

Which is a bit of a worry when you think about it. Just think of the trouble they could get up to, with the rest of us in the middle.

Damn, it is so easy to be drawn into a discussion that is completely off topic and will go nowhere.

OK DMD. I see what you are saying. But at present drug use is illegal, and anyone who engages in drug use knows they are breaking the law. They also must, or should, know that it is not a victimless crime. There are murders happening every day because of the drug trade. Without the consumers there would be no trade, so they are partially responsible for people being killed.

Now if someone believes that those laws are wrong, fine, that is their right. But there are ways to change those laws. Wholesale breaking of those laws is not the way to change them.

That’s it. Not going to be drawn in again on this thread!!
(although I reserve the right to have a similar discussion on another thread)

DMD, sorry buddy but I know alot more about drugs than you think. It is very dangerous of you to think I am naive about drugs in any form, especially being on an internet forum. Lets suffice to say I have seen just about every angle and effect of drug use that has helped me form the opinion I have. People are quite free to have and form their own opinions (including you 😉 which I will respect, agree with them is another thing.

People being afraid to voice their taking of drugs on this forum …. please, read the other threads (including this one) people here, are not afraid to type what they think.!!

You can still go to court for weed m8. De-criminalised is a very loose term.

Anyways…. enough from me on this one (promise this time)

I should add, sorry to double post, that drug use and child porn are two very different things.

Child porn requires an act that society cannot and never will be able to accept, for very good reasons, most of all because it would require the suffering of an individual. If the production of drugs were to take place in controlled environments, nobody would be required to get hurt. It would be still possible, but more down to their own responsibility rather than anyone else’s.

I doubt that it would stun me. I would be stunned if there was an occupation anywhere between Member of Parliament and Street Beggar (inclusive) that did not contain some “consumers”

That’s fine. As long as those” huge amounts of other people” are happy to take partial responsibility for the murder at Sydney airport the other day, the Melbourne underworld war, the Bali 9 facing execution or lengthy imprisonment and almost every armed robbery and burglary that happens.

An end user of drugs trying to claim that they are not responsible for drug related crime is like someone caught with large amounts of child porn claiming they are not responsible for abuse of children because they only like to look at the pictures.

But you are right on one point. Not the thread to discuss it. And the topic has been done to death on RA many, many times… and will be again.

To be honest, this thread was a bit stupid in the first place.

Spidey-dog, I think you’re a bit naive when it comes to drug-use. It’s not a bad thing, I assure you. Please don’t take this as an insult, but I think, considering your obvious anti-drug stance, people might be a little nervous about admitting to their usage around you. This is not a bad thing, but it does cause your view about drugs to be black and white.

Many stoners I knew and still know are gainfully employed – some with extremely good jobs. I know of and know a fair few people who like the occasional smoke who have families, kids and high levels in the APS. I put to you the uni-students and young professionals who hit civic every weekend and take handfuls of pills. Not all drug users walk around with a sign on their head.

Weed is already de-criminalised anyway, it’s just still not legal. There’s a variety of reasons this has not happened. In some ways, I think it’s because we as a society are extremely hypocritical and that we deny basic truths to maintain traditional values we’ve become adept at working around. For some people, I guess it’s simply easier to lead double-lives, one in ‘accepted’ society, the other as recreational drug users, simply because the system they’ve developed for maintaining both would collapse would they come together.

There’s also a range of other reasons it hasn’t come about, to do with politics and conservative values within society. I just don’t think those reasons justify drugs being illegal.

I cannot WAIT to be in a society of stoners ….. It’s funny to see some of my old school friends that were and still are stoners sucessfully gainfully UNEMPLOYED. Yet the ones the weren’t, or even the ones that were and kicked the habit are making meaningful contributions to society. (like paying for the dole that that druggies readily accept)

The issues in drug use are far beyond your ideals of “pro-choice” and supposedly eliminating crime DMD.

If drug use was so far reaching and accepted as you say DMD, drugs would be de-criminalised. Were still waiting ……………

You will never convince me that open slather drug use will be good for society.

But we shouldn’t head down this discussion path, it will just end in tears !!!!!
