Firefighters have rescued a local plumber from rather a sticky situation after he became stuck in the mud Belconnen.

Around 9:30 am on Friday morning (11 January), ACT Fire & Rescue helped free a man from a hole at an industrial site near Howie Court, Belconnen after his feet became stuck in mud while he was working on a leaking water main.

Firefighters used hand tools to free the plumber’s feet and he was then able to climb out of the hole unassisted.

Paramedics assessed the plumber at the scene but he did not require any medical treatment.

WorkSafe ACT attended the site and are making further enquiries into the matter.
