Support QLD flood appeal (and local writer)

By Auntyem - 19 January 2011 0

I have donated two signed copies of my book “The Everything Theory” to the Writers 4 Queensland Flood Appeal and bids are currently taking place on the auction site.

The Everything Theory is an alternative science/history novel set in Australia and follows the journey of a boy and his discovery that advanced ancient technology and science has been disguised as myth throughout the ages to protect the world from a terrifying and repeatable history. This novel was shortlisted in the Australian/NZ IP Picks award in 2009.

IP Picks Judge, Anna Bartlett wrote of this novel:

“An exciting and ambitious undertaking with a premise lodged in ancient mythology, archaeology, world religions and indigenous cultures, The Everything Theory is a wild ride. A scientific and anthropological thriller for a thinking audience, the novel seeks to shed light on the ‘true’ origins of mankind. Gray achieves her goals of integrating a suspense thriller narrative with a rich knowledge of culture, anthropology and history, from NASA and astronomy to Gilgamesh, Zoroastrianism and Angkor Wat. The author has a very gutsy and ambitious goal which she achieves with style and grace.”

The auction began at 9am yesterday and will be open for bids until 9pm on Monday 24 January 2011. Successful bidders will be required to provide a receipt of their donation to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal in order to claim their purchase. The auction is open internationally but all bids must be in Australian dollars.

You support is greatly appreciated.

PS – if you’re a budding writer you can also bid on manuscript appraisals from professional agencies across Australia on the site.
