Gatsby

Gatsby’s not that mysterious – he just needs a home. Photo: RSPCA ACT.

Cat of the Week: Gatsby

So here’s what you might call an ironically named cat. Unlike Jay Gatsby from the classic novel, our Gatsby isn’t one to throw lavish parties and be the socialite of the times. Not just yet, anyway.

Our own Great Gatsby is a rather shy gent, not hissy or nasty in any way, just shy. It’s not unusual for cats to be like this when they’re here; their world has truly been flipped on its head so we understand.

Unfortunately, he’s had FIV so he’ll need to be the single cat in the home.

It just means when you come to the shelter, he won’t come out and greet you like many other cats might. But we think these cats are the most fun, rewarding and eventually loyal, because when he gets into a stable home environment and gets used to you, he’s going to be terrific!

Visit our Gatsby, see his handsome looks and sweet face and you’ll see why we think this boy will eventually be the man of the house.

Coco

Dog of the Week: Coco

Coco is a wonderfully affectionate girl. She has a beautiful temperament and will adore you as soon as you make friends.

She’s excited to go for walks and spend time outdoors and loves burning off energy so an active family would be perfect for her. Our volunteer walkers like to play fetch with her before going for a stroll.

She’ll need to be the only dog in the household but don’t let that sway you, she’s not mischievous; she just wants her own family all to herself and she’ll repay with love, loyalty and a super waggy tail.

Come and visit Coco, a beautiful dog, well socialised and one of many similar, healthy, happy adult dogs we have at our shelter right now.

Pawnotes: We’re on a roll, Canberra. The last three dogs of the week – Rocky, Zera and Xena – have all been adopted! Will you be the one to adopt sweet Coco and give her the perfect home she deserves?

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
