A teenager has died following an accident on a ski run at Thredbo Resort.

At about 11 am on Sunday (19 June), emergency services received reports of an injured skier.

Initial inquiries suggest the skier lost control on the slope, veered off track and struck trees.

Other snow-goers noticed the injured 18-year-old man and alerted medical staff.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to a nearby medical centre, where he died soon after.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and commenced inquiries.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
