Looking for a fun way to exercise? Why not sign up for Zumba classes?

Zumba combines Latin and international music with an energising and effective workout. You’ll find this hugely popular dance and fitness program like exercising at a party. Even better, you can join most Zumba classes as a beginner.

Before you get moving in your Zumba dance workout, make sure you choose a reputable studio that’s right for you.

In this article, we’ll outline the qualities to consider when choosing a Zumba studio, and share where to find the best in Canberra.

What makes a great Zumba class?

Choosing the right Zumba class can make or break your experience. You don’t just want any Zumba class. You want a great Zumba class that inspires you to return to time and again.

It can be helpful to keep the following in mind when choosing a Zumba class.

  • Instructors. You’ll want experienced instructors who know how to make you dance your heart out. This means choosing the type of instructor who motivates you to get fit while having fun. The best instructors have loads of Zumba class experience.
  • Fitness levels. Choose a Zumba studio with classes for your fitness level. You may be a newbie or a student who has been dancing Zumba for years. Whatever your level, you’ll want an instructor who is interested in monitoring your progress.
  • Reputation. Not all Zumba studios operate at the same level. Also, not all Zumba classes are top-notch. This means you’ll want to select a Zumba studio with a fantastic reputation for being safe and fun. Check online reviews and don’t be afraid to ask or references from current or former members.
  • Competitive pricing. You don’t want to overpay for your Zumba classes so look for competitive pricing. Check pricing online or talk to the studio. You can also ask about bulk purchase discounts or group discounts if you have others who want to get fit.
  • Insured and certified. Great Zumba classes have instructors who keep a close eye on students, but sometimes accidents happen. You’ll therefore want to check if your Zumba studio is fully insured. Also, it’s wise to check that instructors are certified and experienced.
