Canberra audiences are cordially invited this October to enjoy a soiree of extreme silliness. Guests are implored to come in, enjoy a drink and be a fly on the wall as the hosts prepare to drop a bombshell on their guests. Will desires, singledom and petty grudges overshadow their big news?
The Front Café & Gallery is the location for this delightful new piece of comedic improvised theatre.
Creator and director, Ben Crowley said of the setting: “I chose The Front because it already has the beautiful intimate feel of someone’s dining room, so it will set a wonderful tone for the audience as they spy on a dinner party.”
With over a decade of experience in improvised theatre in Canberra, Crowley is excited about this new project.
“Audiences can expect a comedic dinner party disaster that they can relate to and simmering relationships where hidden attitudes and feelings are waiting to bubble over,” he said.
“The choice of improvisation to present this piece will mean the actors can tailor each show to the interests of that night’s audience. The audience will be asked a few questions at the start of the show that will influence the narrative, and relationships between the party goers, and then they can sit back and watch it all unravel. It’s going to create an extremely fun, comedic theatre experience.”
So RSVP and order your serve of local theatre that is certain to deliver a belly full of laughs.
