Retention doesn’t seem to be a problem for the Brumbies at the moment.

They’ve just announced that they’ve persuaded gun prop Ben Alexander to sign on the dotted line for another two years.

“It was an easy decision really,” he said. “It was something I wanted to get locked away early so I could focus on the season and given that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Brumbies so far, there was no reason to look anywhere else.

“Canberra’s a very easy place to live and somewhere that’s conducive to playing good rugby. It’s a city that allows you to focus on your football and, combined with the Brumbies family environment, it’s the ideal place to play rugby.”

“I’m enjoying the style of football we get to play at the Brumbies, they’re a great bunch of guys and I think we’re entering a very exciting time for the club.”

Now we just need to convince George Smith…
