They stopped making Raiders’ Milk because it was awful. But it’s coming back with a taste of Brumby

By johnboy - 10 August 2012 32

The Canberra Times has the unfortunate news that Canberra Milk’s appalling lime flavoured green milk of yesteryear is coming back to convince dog sex enthusiasts of the merits of drinking milk.

Even worse they’re working on a Brumby flavoured milk as well.

Dear Reader, what would Brumby flavoured milk taste like?

What’s Your opinion?

That could have actually been a real joke if you’d put a bit more effort into it.

Good thread, but I’m going to dispute the apparent consensus that Raiders Lime was that bad. Lime milkshakes are good – while the citrus and dairy combination sounds like a bad idea in theory, it sometimes works, such as in chocolate orange and lemon in various milk- and cheese-containing desserts. Raiders Lime wasn’t a great example of a lime milkshake, but it was an acceptable effort for a flavoured milk drink you can buy at the servo.

I’m glad it’s coming back, give it a try if you’ve never had it, at least for the reason that in twenty years’ time we’ll all be here having this conversation again and reminiscing. I hope it stays, but for some reason the standard flavours seem to remain the same (I’m not huge on banana flavoured milk but I’m not arrogant enough to think that my personal preferences mean nobody likes it).

I expect that Brumbies milk will be honeycomb flavoured, because the colour is about right, it’s a tried and tested flavour and Canberrans aren’t fond of daring originality.

ummm… hello! All they need to do is add 8 espressos worth of caffeine and put “energy” in the title and it’ll go ballistic… it’ll still taste like ball sweat… but then so does every other energy drink…

Anyone else remember Raiders bread? A standard white loaf with stripes of green food dye. Yummo!

Wasn’t it a standard white oaf with it’s dick in a dog?

Thanks – made me spit coke all over the screen!

Maybe they just get the milk from wild horses instead of cows?

Dog sex enthusiasts? Like, dog on dog action or something else…?

Brumbyberry milk?

Ah yes, the old “Raider Slime” – great stuff that =P

Who would have thought that mixing citrus with a milk product could be such a delicious combination. I think it was back in year 7 home economics that we used exactly that combination to demonstrate the magic process of curdling. Mmmmm, lumpy green milk!

Whatever it tastes like, it will likely leave you with a long face, and feeling a little hoarse.

I thought the accepted term was “Dog Fanciers”…

“what would Brumby flavoured milk taste like?”

Probably wet dog fur if they are being authentic.

My money is on banana though, because there’s a colour link and people might actually drink it.
