These women are living proof you can shoot for the stars in your career at Ray White Canberra while remaining devoted to your children and families.

Ray White Canberra Director Sam Faulks says the trio of Janae Burleigh, Brook Keir and Lisa Hyland live and breathe the agency’s values every day – ones that place the customer first, promote leadership, success, reliability, team work and humility.

Brook, Janae and Lisa are flourishing as a result, which fits Ray White Canberra’s overall business strategy to become the best place on the planet to build a career in real estate.

“We have done a lot of work over the years really bringing those values to life in our business,” Sam says. “They are written all over our walls, they are peer-nominated via an app that we use, when those behaviours are seen within the business it is expected internally and externally that they are the guiding lights for our team.”

For Ray White Canberra staff, every day is extraordinary. The agency is recruiting right now and wants to hear from you if you want a career, flexibility and fun along the way.

Lisa, Brook and Janae all juggle family life while building their successful careers. “They are taking on leadership opportunities in our business, I could not be more impressed by those three, they are the future of our property management business,” Sam says.

In real estate for 15 years, Property Manager Janae Burleigh has three children, the youngest is five, and she loves the people around her at work. “They are very family-orientated, and as much as the business needs to go forward, they give you what you need as far as your family is concerned,” Janae says.

“I’m big on family, I’m big on loyalty as well, it goes hand in hand.”

Commenting on Janae, Sam says: “I have never met anyone who is more loved by their landlords and tenants, it is unbelievable, they have such a connection to her and respect for her. That comes back to her unrelenting approach to customer first, she is so diligent, very responsive and she does care. She wants the right outcome for people.”

Ray White Canberra makes the workplace desirable for women and men by helping them with the right job opportunities, Sam says. “Once they join us it is about supported mentoring, particularly through the initial stages, ongoing throughout their careers, there are career-planning days, one-on-one and team-based planning as well.

“For mums and dads, there is a real sense of flexibility to allow people to have their family life. If mums or dads have left to have families this encourages them to come back to work and provides flexibility around part-time arrangements wherever possible and capitalise on all their skills and experience to help them grow their careers.”

These three employees prove that Ray White Canberra is fast becoming the “best place on the planet” to build a career in real estate.

Business Development Manager Lisa Hyland, an experienced operator with 17 years in real estate, is raising primary-school-aged children and thrives at work. “I love the flexibility so I can make sure things are good at home with my family.

“I love the career growth that I have had since I joined Ray White Canberra. The people you work with makes coming to work every day really enjoyable.”

Sam says Lisa is taking on the role of operations manager for the Property Management business. “She is so driven by delivering a customer first experience, she is always willing to go above and beyond to get the best outcome for landlords and tenants, while juggling business needs. Lisa does an amazing job,” Sam says.

Business Development and Relationship Manager Brook Keir says Ray White Canberra are all about people achieving. Brook has a young child, is ambitious and powering ahead on an exciting career trajectory. She likes the fact that colleagues, regardless of their roles, have a career path as well.

“It’s all about keeping the staff involved within the business, rather than a high staff turnover.”

Sam says Brook is young, driven and ambitious and she will ultimately be extremely successful in real estate. “She is building that career now,” he says.

Sam says Ray White Canberra’s focus on teamwork is about bringing each individual together to share the highs and lows, which makes an enormous difference at work. Having happy staff filters down to happy clients.
