Someone tell Belco, Tuggers has them totally P0wnd.
Despite a superior setting in many ways the Belconnen Community Festival offers the participant little except a venue to wander around in search of anything at all of interest before departing disappointed.
Tuggeranong on the other hand was packed with interesting things to see, do, and spend money on.
Sure there were girls in distressingly tight jeans. But there was also a much more diverse crowd of people from different cultural backgrounds.
I wouldn’t have expected to discover new food at the TCF but the Sri Lankan community introduced me to the Dosa, a rice pancake rolled and filled with spicy goodness.
The skate park was filled with happy kids doing their thing, the shore of Lake Tuggeranong was lined with canoes, and the festival was packed with people having a great time.
We ended up spending more money than we planned to and staying longer than intended.
Trust me, that’s no faint praise. Well done to the organisers.
Instead of worrying about being worthy they set out to entertain and ended up achieving both in spades.
