Hey the weather is getting nicer, so maybe you should go talk a walk in it?

Maybe help raise money for a totally awesome playground while you’re at it?

Possibly at this walk to raise money so Boundless can build an awesome inclusive playground event.

Here’s the details:

The Boundless Canberra team would like to invite all Canberrans to join them tomorrow for the Walk and Play event which will help raise funds for the ACT’s first inclusive playground.

Walk and Play will be held on Friday, 30 August, starting in Kings Park, near the National Carillon. Departmental Secretaries and Agency Heads will lead off the walk at 7.15am for the 5km bridge to bridge walk.

Walk and Play is part of the APS Centenary of Canberra Initiative, a celebration of the APS, its people and their contribution to the development of Canberra.

While Walk and Play is an APS initiative, all Canberrans are invited to take part.

Boundless Board Member, Natalie Howson said, “We would love to see lots of people out enjoying a morning of easy exercise, spending time admiring Canberra’s beautiful lake and supporting Boundless.

“Importantly this walk will bring together the community and remind us all of how close and intertwined we are when it comes to making Canberra a great place to live – whether we are parents, public servants, work in the private sector or have retired, we all contribute to making the ACT an inclusive and generous city.”

The charity walk will be followed by a light breakfast, with the event to wrap up in time for all employees to be able to arrive at work in time for a 9.00am start.

Registration closes today, so get in quick! For more information and to register please visit www.boundlesscanberra.org.au/walkandplay

Stage one of Boundless is getting very close to opening – we should be in a position to announce an opening date in October very shortly. For updates, please visit our facebook page.

“ACT and Australian Government public servants are pledging time and money to make this playground their gift to the Canberra community for 2013, supported by value-in-kind contributions from the ACT private sector.” – From their website.
The last updated photo on their FB page was on July 29, so it couldn’t be far from opening day for the first stage, though disappointing they couldn’t get it finished by the end of the Centenary of Canberra. I guess it is typical of all projects in the A.C.T to be over budget and behind in schedule.

This is all very well, however when does the playground actually open, for playing? This information does not appear to even be on the website.
