What does this mast do?

I have lived on the course for 10yrs never complained once but the noise is there constantly I have done voluntary work there for a few years as well.To ask a question and be told to get f## was wrong and to put it up illegally is typical of the current owner ashame very poor business. ACT planning were there taking photos and investigating and confirmed it was illegally erected.

Definitely a space wave amplifier. I’ve added an extra layer of tinfoil to my hat!

My guess (educated, but still a guess) is that it’s one end of a SCADA data link used for some sort of device monitoring and control. If you look down the path of the reflector you’ll probably see the other end somewhere off in the not too far distance.

You’re spot on I think. ACTEW AGL use SCADA radio to monitor things like HV circuit breakers and sewerage flow meters.The sewerage flow meters pop up in some odd places sometimes, and it’s highly likely that they wouldn’t have bothered to tell the golf club what they were doing. They used to use Yagi antennas, but they may have switched to the parabolic style, or just be using them in marginal signal areas.
