When do the school holidays start?

Now I’ve got the day off tomorrow and was planning to go on daytrip to the snow for a bit of skiing, something I really enjoy but haven’t done for a while. While talking to a work mate about this he mentioned that he thought it was school holidays at the moment. Now sharing the slopes with a hundreds of out of control kids or smarmy teens (particularly the buggers who can ski better than me!) is not my idea of fun, why I tend not to go on the weekends (and yes I am getting old).

Now the ACT Department of Education website states the holidays don’t start until the 6th of July but is that across the board? Any schools already on holidays?

Oh, and all my normal skiing partners can’t make it so anyone up for a day trip let me know in the comments and I’ll drop you an email to arrange details.

Public Primary School Holidays start on Monday 9th of July in Canberra. You should be safe, but their will still be all the kids on excursions.

for holidays… some unis are out, others are still in exams/swotvac, two weeks till the kiddies are let loose for winter.

Hadn’t decided as to thredbo or perisher/blue// yet, whichever had the better snow. In fact if I can’t find skiing buddy I might not go at all; skiing alone is like motorcycling alone – dangerous AND stupid

This website says NSW will start their holidays the week before ACT (Monday 2 July).

The Grammar schools start holidays this Friday. No idea what’s going on accross the border. If this rain we have hear isn’t falling as snow it could make for a fairly ordinary day out – that said were you thinking of Thredbo or that other place?
