Where did Riot go?

Where has RiotACT been for the last few hours? Your imagination may have been conjuring images government stormtroopers busting down the door of the RA bunker and smashing the server to bits. As always the truth is far less glamourous, it seems our little asthmatic server is on its last legs and is requiring regular defibrillation. So now I am sitting here at the console of the new RA server (which has sat half built on my study floor for far too long) as the rest of the RA team angrily whip me onto action.

So sorry for the disruption, and I hope to bring you the new, speedier RiotACT server in the very near future. In the meanwhile happy rioting!

Our ball park sketch is the new machine will be able to handle 50x as many simultaneous connections.

So we’ll hit our capacity limit at 500,000 unique visitors / month.

At which point we’ll pass the hat around for the big iron.

Nothing that a couple of hundred thousand dollars wouldnt fix…

I assumed it was the secret Canberra Times black ops team…

I vaguely recall ARK has some kind of computer recycling programme, although I haven’t heard of it for a while.

Please consider the Environment in conjunction with any ceremonial burnings, burials etc…

Is the old server being buried with appropriate honours or cremated

There is no bunker

I reckon you guys heard from Tooheys that it was gonna ‘rain beer’ and just slipped out just for a few…
