Witnesses sought following 'deliberately lit' house fire

Police are searching for witnesses following a Rivett house fire which they believe may have been “deliberately lit”.

Emergency services were called to the Salsola St home in Rivett at 5:55 pm Sunday (15 May), where they found the house ablaze.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but police said it “suffered extensive damage” before the fire could be extinguished.

Police have called for anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference number 7110221.

The house is being forensically examined today (16 May).
