A number of platforms at Woden Bus Station will be temporarily closed after the morning peak today, according to ACTION.
“From 10 am, platforms 8, 9 and 10 will be temporarily closed to allow for unforeseen maintenance work required by ActewAGL,” Bren Burkevics, ACTION’s Chief Operating Officer, said today.
“Bus services that would usually operate from these three platforms will be relocated to the bus layover between the Woden bus station and the Hellenic Club. Buses servicing all other platforms at Woden Bus Station will not be impacted.
“The temporary relocation of platforms 8, 9 and 10 is expected to remain in place for two to three days while the maintenance work is completed.
“ACTION is making the relocated platforms as comfortable as possible for passengers by providing temporary seating, shelter and additional lighting for night time bus services.
“A shuttle bus will also be available to transport elderly passengers and people with disabilities to and from the relocated platforms and the eastern entrance of Westfield Woden (near the Woden Bus Station).
“Signage will be erected at Woden Bus Station to alert passengers to the closure and temporary arrangements for platforms 8, 9 and 10. Notification will also be provided on the ACTION website, through Facebook and Twitter and on NXTBUS information screens on buses. ACTION customer service staff will also be present at Woden Bus Station to assist passengers locate their relocated platform.
“ACTION thanks passengers for their patience while this temporary arrangement is in place.”
Mr Burkevics also reminded Canberrans that a revised ACTION timetable is now operating for the holiday period until Friday 8 January 2016.
