Indi your right… Queanbeyan certainly does have a couple gems I know of… male and female!
They can be hard to find but can be found if you look hard enough!

Like Jey, back when I used to drink a fair bit I was less shy and I used to approach guys all the time 🙂 Post a really bad relationship I don’t trust my judgement at all and now have a firm rule to never approach a guy ever.

Having said that, I’m pretty friendly by nature and will generally talk to anyone who approaches me. In fact, last time I was out in Civic with some girlfriends a couple of guys approached us and we spent an enjoyable hour or so chatting before we all went our separate ways.

I get the same thing, Im very chatty, and people confuse it for flirty.

In my clubbing days, when I used to drink a fair bit, I wasn’t shy.

My patholigist on saturday thought I was flirting with her because she mentioned her child and husband in the most obvious way to send the whole “Im Taken” signal.

Fact was I am chatty by nature – and even moreso when getting a needle – because im scared of a bit of metal poking into my arm – so i get really really chatty to distract myself.

Funny tho – my chatty is her flirty.

just out of curiosity, how many girls here actually approach a guy if they find him attractive?

I personally think if you find someone attractive, approach them no matter where they are. If it’s in a shopping centre or a nightclub, it shouldn’t matter.

I don’t know what this guys standards are, but even being a female I notice heaps of gorgeous girls about everywhere whenever I step out of the house!

Well I was in sydney on the weekend, and Canberra by far has better looking women. Plus they’re more friendly here, and you can have a conversation with them. Maybe you should just grow some and go talk to people. A friend of mine once told me that in 10 years from now, you don’t want someone who just looks good, you want someone you can talk to.

From popular advice column “Savage Love” (or actually, their podcast)- you need to make sure you’ve showered and groomed a bit, and to have firmly assessed yourself and the kind of woman you can realistically attract – you are not automaticaly entitled to boink Angelina Jolie (or whoever your particular choice of hot-looking woman is). Asking friends to be brutal with you works very well at working out what your real level of expectation should be.

Alternatively, there’s a number of ladies of negotiable affection in the yellow pages.

OPH on Friday night is a meat market for the current round of graduates for all the departments. I think its part of an APS breeding program (well – it’s one way to get around labour shortages).

I went once, felt nauseous very quickly (the reek of earnestness and ambition were overwhelming) and left equally quickly.

Unless you want to lower your standards, I’m sure you can pick up at Shooters or Mooseheads.

yeah i found that “picking up chicks” = no long term relationship value.

In saying so – I met my fiancee through my best friend (who is also female).

Looking for as you say “attractive young women” is a pretty poor attitude as well.

Not everyone is a super dooper model – and I have found that there is plenty more than cosmetic ways for a woman to be sexy – maybe u need to re-assess your plastic ways of thinking – or maybe grow a set and talk to women instead of viewing them as objects – see who they are for who they are not what they look like.

In any case – I practise what I preach – Rachel (my fiancee) is probably what you would classify as unattractive – however – relationships go a bit more than skin deep for me, and in my eyes – she is very attractive – otherwise I would not be with her yeah ?

maybe a change of view or attitude will net you a long term relationship – instead of just “garage” to park your “car” for the night.

I concur with the ED comment. Women prefer articulate men, and preferably ones that don’t use the term “hot chicks” or talk about how few attractive women there are around. I think your attitude is the problem, not the “lack of hot chicks”.
