ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a vehicle fire in Melba earlier this morning (Friday, July 5).

At 6.15am, police attended Copland College after receiving reports of a Holden Commodore on fire in the school’s car park.

ACT Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire, which completely destroyed the vehicle. Police are treating the fire as suspicious and the cause of the fire is now under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle fire, or saw any suspicious activity in the area is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

By Copland College one presumes they mean the Melba Copland Secondary School. Copland College hasn’t existed since 2008, which makes me sad because that was my old stomping grounds. The building is now a secondary campus for Melba High.
