and i must add, the several scanda-whatever [finland arguments aside] films i’ve seen (thanks sbs) all seem to have a certain sparseness and quirkiness that i love – there’s an off-beatness to them that resembles, in an odd way, new zealand or noir aussie films. would love to see more.

Finnish Lapland, to stay in the Ice Castle, see reindeer, be in the Arctic circle and see the northern lights! None of that swimming in a hole cut into the ice though 🙂

Just a point of note from a Swede – Finland is not a part of Scandinavia!

No self respecting Finn would want to be a part of Scandinavia…self included.

having long been enamoured of knut hamsun, the nobel writer, i have been intrigued by the people and landscape of norway and have wanted to visit – sadly, it hasn’t yet worked out thus. so tix to look at it [and its neighbours] would be noice… 😉

They could have gone with Nordic, that covers them all. Lapland is the north of Finland, Sweden and Norway, not just Finland.
Anyway, I’d love to spend more time in Bergen, only had 24 hours there and would love more time to visit properly and go up the Hardangerfjord by boat. Somebody has to find Slartiblartfast’s signature…

always wanted to visit Norway and visit the dark snowy forests pictured on heavy metal cd booklets. And check out the underground black metal scene.

It all seems quite affjordable as well if you feel like going along just to tjuvtitta.

Where: Bergen, Norway.
Why: I’ve been pining for the fjords.

Maybe Fenno-Scandinavian wouldn’t fit on the poster.

I have a good friend who is from Finland. He refers to it as Lapland. I think it was part of Russia once?
A lot of people are fascinated with this part of the world.
