It was good to see the Chief Minister, Katy Gallagher at the last Tuggeranong Community Council Meeting. More than 60 people were at the meeting and asked her many questions about Tuggeranong, public transport, health, planning and development, aircraft noise and Tralee just to mention a few.
It was a very good night, spoiled only by the president. I wish he would learn that people don’t attend just to listen to him all night.
Did Katy have anything meaningful to say about the disgruntlement of Tuggers-ites re the lack of maintenance, widespread neglect etc?
Dear Miz,
From what I recall an elderly gentleman asked her a question along these lines and based his question on what he said was the clear message sent by voters at the last election that Tuggeranong voters felt they were being neglected by the ACT Government. Katy said that she had received the message loud and clear from the Election outcome which she said indicated a divided ACT. She said the ACT Government had a limited Budget and that Molonglo and Gungahlin were the new development areas. She said this being the case the government had made a number of election commitments to Tuggeranong, including a new health centre, duplication of Ashley Drive, new CIT, redevelopment of the Tuggeranong Arts Centre, major upgrades to the schools and a range of other government commitments to Tuggeranong. She said she took the election outcome in Brindabella seriously.

Apparently, according to other dictionaries, the term derives from a very old word meaning ‘grunt’. Or something like that.
How is the housing for homeless youth going, DD? Did Ms Gallagher give an update on that worthwhile project?

Perhaps Tuggeranong should pay less taxes then and increase them in the dirty north.
Lots of money is being spent in Belconnen and civic but not on the south.
Thanks for the reply and info DD!
